Banske muzeum v prirode (skanzen) bolo spristupnene v roku 1974 na povodnych banskych dielach sachty Ondrej zo 16.-teho storocia a stolne Bartolomej zo 16. a 17.-teho storocia. Nachadza sa 2 km od Banskej Stiavnice pri ceste do Stiavnickych Bani pod jazerom Klinger. Pozostava z povrchovej a podzemnej expozicie. Na povrchu sa nachadzaju originalne stavby a stroje, podzemnu expoziciu tvoria dva hlbkove obzory na sachte Ondrej (Bartolomej a Jan) 33 m a 45 m pod zemou. Dlzka podzemnej trasy je 1300 m. V typickom banskom prostredi su instalovane ukazky banickych pracovisk, tazobnych zariadeni a dobyvacich metod od 16.-teho storocia az do sucasnosti.

The Open - Air Mining Museum was opened to the public in 1974 on original mining parts of the pit Ondrej from the 16th century and the gallery Bartolomej from the 16th and 17th century. It is two kilometers from Banska Stiavnica along the road to the Stiavnica mines, below the lake Klinger. It is made up of a surface and an underground exhibition. On the surface are original mining buildings and machinery, e.g. a unique water-column hauling engine engine from 1881, a head-frame Zofia, etc. The underground exhibition comprises two depth horizons in the Ondrej pit (the Bartolomej and the Jan horizons) 33 m and 45 m deep respectively. The length of the underground track measures some 1300 m. Samples of mining workspaces, equipment and methods of extraction from the 16th century down to the present times are installed in a typical mining environment.

Expozicia uholneho banictva je najmladsou castou muzea a predstavuje stroje z uholnych bani zo Slovenska a Ceska.

The coal Mining Exposition is the youngest part of this museum and displays coal-mining machines from Slovakia and Czech Republic.
