Muzeum
Milana Dobesa bolo otvorene 15. novembra 2001.
Hlavnym organizatorom zalozenia muzea je nadacia Europska kulturna spolocnost.
Muzeum sidli v povodne mestianskom obytnom dome z konca 14. storocia, priamo v historickom jadre
Bratislavy, nedaleko Michalskej brany.
Rekonstrukcia domu na muzealno-galerijne ucely prebiehala v rokoch 1999-2001. Dom ma goticke
zaklady, renesancne prestavby zo 16. storocia a barokovu upravu fasady z rokov 1752-1770. V
interieri muzea ostali zachovane niektore casti architektonickych uprav zo spominanych historickych
obdobi. K hodnote budovy muzea prispeli i archeologicke vykopavky z neskorej doby latenskej z
l.storocia pred Kristom.
Muzeum Milana Dobesa vzniklo vdaka milovnikom a obdivovatelom vytvarneho umenia a zo sukromnych
zbierok, co je na Slovensku stale zriedkavostou. Muzeum svoju aktivitu zameriava predovsetkym na
konstruktivisticke a neokonstruktivisticke tendencie vo vytvarnom umeni.
Muzeum uzko spolupracuje s Galeriou KOMART.
Biograficke udaje Milana Dobesa:
Narodil sa 29. jula 1929 v Prerove.
V rokoch 1951 studoval na Vysokej skole vytvarnych umeni v Bratislave u profesorov Ladislava
Cemickeho, Bedricha Hoffstadtera a na oddeleni krajinarskeho maliarstva u prof. Dezidera Millyho.
Od roku 1960 sa venuje tvorbe vizualno-kinetickych a svetelno-kinetickych objektov.
Napisal manifesty o Svetle a pohybe a o Dynamickom konstruktivizme.
Zucastnil sa na vyznamnych vystavach opticko-kinetickeho umenia doma a v zahranici.
Roku 2001 Nadacia Europskej kulturnej spolocnosti zalozila Muzeum Milana Dobesa v Bratislave.
Milan Dobes Museum was open 15th November 2001.
The European Cultural Society Foundation is the main organiser of the
establishment of the Milan Dobes Museum. The museum is housed in a residential building from the end
of the 14th century located in the historic centre of Bratislava, close to Michael Gate.
During its reconstruction and renovation in 1999-2001, the building was transformed into an
exhibition space. The house has Gothic foundations, the Renaissance reconstruction was carried out
in the 16th century and the Baroque facade was built in 1752-1770. Parts ofthe original interior
have been preserved.This precious house contains valuable archaeological finds from the late La Tene
Period, from the 1st century BC.
The Milan Dobes Museum was established thanks to volunteers and art connoisseurs as well as private
collections, a rarity in Slovakia. Exhibition activities focus particularly on Constructivist and
Neo-constructivist tendencies in visual arts.
Milan Dobes Biography
Born July 29,1929 in Prerov.
Studied at the College of Fine Arts in Bratislava with Professors Ladislav Cemicky, Bedrich
Hoffstadter and at the Department of Landscape Painting with Professor Dezider Milly.
Since 1960 he has been producing visual-kinetic and luminous-kinetic objects.
Wrote manifestos on Light and Movemerrt and on Dynamic Constructivism.
Took part in major exhibitions of optic and kinetic art in Slovakia and abroad.
In 2001 the European Cultural Society Foundation established the opened the Milan Dobes Museum in
Bratislava.
Expozicie / Expositions:
Stala expozicia diela Milana Dobesa je na troch podlaziach muzea. Stvrte je vyhradene pre
striedajuce sa vystavy. Tuto cinnost zahajilo muzeum malou historickou vystavou Sonii Delaunay.
V zbierke muzea je viac ako 200 exponatov. Okrem grafickych prac, kolazi a soch, su vystavene aj
zname Dobesove svetelno-kineticke objekty. Dobesovu zbierku doplna i kolekcia 47 umelcov z celeho
sveta, ako aj ceski a slovenski vytvarnici, jeho priatelia a kolegovia.
The permanent exhibition of the work of Milan Dobes is displayed on three floors. The
fourth floor presents temporary exhibitions. The launch of the museum was accompanied by the opening
of a temporary exhibition presenting the work of Sonia Delaunay.
The museum collection contains over 200 exhibits. Apart from graphic works, collages and sculptures,
Dobes's well-known luminous-kinetic objects are also on display. The collection of the work of Milan
Dobes is complemented with the works of 47 artists from all over the world, including artists from
the Czech Republic and Slovakia, his friends and colleagues.
